Baseball is finally here!

Baseball started as well as the rainy season!
All practices were rained out and I think a few of the games as well.
Last week we had our first game and tied. The other team was really good. I think they may have practiced in the rain! I'm glad we tied!
This is our first year at kid pitch. Parker made contact with the ball his second time up to bat. He hit it really well and made a double. He slid into second and actually knocked the basemen (who was on top of the base) down to the ground and called SAFE! In the struggle to stand up, Parker left the base (remember he is intertwined with the baseman on top of the base). Since the baseman had the ball in glove, he tagged Parker out. What a learning experience it was for Parker. Poor thing, after a great save, he was called out on technicality.

Parker really wants to play catcher, but isn't really fast enough to get the balls the pitchers are throwing. He played first base most of the game and did quite well!

We have a make up game this evening! We'll see how it goes!
